A Jupiter woman with two 4-year-olds in the back seat of her truck was arrested Monday after being accused of driving drunk and crashing into three cars at a local Walmart parking lot.
Delie Ann Dunfee, 33, was released from the Palm Beach County Jail this afternoon under supervison. She is facing charges of DUI, two counts of child neglect and two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer.
It's unclear if anyone was hurt during the incident. The two girls in Dunfee's truck — Dunfee's daughter and her daughter's friend — were handed over to a family friend.
Jupiter Police responded to the scene just before 8 p.m. after receiving reports that a 2006 Chevrolet Truck had hit three different vehicles without stopping, at the Walmart at 2144 W. Indiantown Rd. An off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy said he tried stopping Dunfee to no avail as she left the parking lot after a person reported seeing her truck crash into a black car.
By the time Jupiter Police were able to pull over Dunfee, she had reached the intersection of Central Boulevard and Toney Penna Drive.
While being interviewed by police, Dunfee was allegedly screaming at the officers, according to the arrest report. She kept saying that she was just "trying to go home" and to just arrest her already, the report said.
After she was placed in handcuffs, she allegedly elbowed an officer in the chest and later kicked him in the leg, according to the report. While she was being driven to the jail, she allegedly threatened to "kick the door again" of the patrol car.
The officers noted in the report that her speech was slurred, hard to understand and she was "not making sense."
