81-year-old Jerry Kindig and his wife Patricia enjoy relaxing in their backyard on Love Street in Jupiter.

Patricia says her mother bought the house in the 1960's, "Mom had this home built in 1963 and she passed away about 8 years ago, and she left us the home."

The Kindigs thought they would pass this house on to their kids.

Now, they say that plan could be changing-- all because of a new waterfront development that's coming to this area, bringing restaurants and an outdoor marketplace and also, more traffic.

Her husband Jerry said,  "There's only about four of us who live here on this road. it's not going to be nice living here."

So Jerry and his three neighbors started talking about what they could do.

Together they made a verbal agreement to sell their homes, before development comes in.

He said,  "We just got together and said hey, it's probably time to get out of here, sooner or later they are going to get us anyway, it's only a matter of time."

He says he and his neighbors hope someone will come forward and buy all of the homes as a package deal.

"All four of us, waiting for somebody to make us an offer, make a decent offer, because we are not going to give it away," he says. Jerry says he's not against progress, but it may be time to leave and take their memories with them. "It's going to happen, it's only time."

The Town of Jupiter told the developer to scale back on the plan. A revised version could be presented during a meeting in April.
