JUPITER — Jupiter Police have arrested a woman involved in an apparent false report of hazardous or toxic materials at a home.
The woman, who has not been identified, apparently called in to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue dispatch alleging that a man who lived in the home on Cherokee Street had drums containing hazardous chemicals.
Several fire-rescue trucks and the Hazardous Materials team responded to the call, which came in around 10:30 a.m.
The area near the home along Cherokee Street was closed as a precaution after reports of a strange smell in the area, and that people were having trouble breathing.
However, rescue and HazMat workers found several empty plastic drums that the man uses for holding bait fish, but no toxic chemicals.
There were no reports of injuries.
