Annual Loggerhead triathlon held at Carlin Park in Jupiter

Hundreds of athletes turned out for annual Loggerhead Triathlon event at Carlin Park Saturday morning.

Chamber of Commerce officials said more than 600 people registered for this year's race.

The Loggerhead Triathlon is one of the longest standing races in the state, since 1985.

The race course consists of a 3/8 mile ocean swim, 13 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run.

A1A is blocked off until after the race which ends at noon.
