Sea turtle returned to the wild

JUNO BEACH, Fla. - An 85-pound sea turtle is back where he belongs.

Tyrion had been rehabbing at Loggerhead Marinelife Center

Biologists found the reptile covered in barnacles at the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant in 2007.

Monday afternoon the turtle was set free at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach.

"It's always special watching an animal that we've worked so hard on get well again and watching him swim away," said Melissa Ranly with Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Biologists with the center have seen a spike in the number of loggerhead sea turtle nests along the coast in the past year.

They hope after gaining nearly 14 pounds in rehab, Tyrion will be able to
survive and thrive in the wild.
