JUNO BEACH, Fla. - The surf was up on Saturday, but not just for surfers of the two-legged variety. More than a dozen dogs swapped their leashes for surfboards for the inaugural Dog Surfing Competition in Juno Beach.
Now these dogs weren't just showing off, they were showing how lovable they could be in the right home. Some of these dogs were from "The Big Dog Ranch Rescue" in Wellington; one of their dogs won the top prize.
Adam Steinberg, a dog surfing instructor said, "If there's a chance for you to widen your connection with your kids, the beach, and your family and your community give it a shot and try dog surfing because it might just be for you."
NewsChannel Five meteorologist Kait Parker, a big supporter of Big Dog Ranch was at the event.
