MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. - A Hidden Oaks Middle School teacher and her son are under arrest in Martin County.
Detectives accuse 55-year old Victoria Thomason of Stuart, and her son, 25-year old Russell Thomason, of operating a marijuana grow house inside a Stuart home.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office says detectives found 58 cannabis plants growing inside the residence on SE Madison Avenue.
The sheriff's office said detectives made the discovery after serving a search warrant Friday night.
According to the sheriff's office, Thomason told detectives that she knew her son was growing marijuana and that she preferred that he smoked it rather than take pills for back pain.
Detectives charged the pair with Cultivating of Cannabis, and Possession of Cannabis over 20 grams.
They were taken to the Martin County jail on $10,000 bond each, the sheriff's office said.
