Toxic Water: Governor Scott and Senator Negron to tour St . Lucie Lock and Dam on Tuesday

STUART, Fla. - The office of Gov. Rick Scott announced Thursday afternoon that he and Sen. Joe Negron will tour the St. Lucie Lock and Dam on the St. Lucie River on Tuesday.
Scott and Negron will tour the S-80 Control Structure at 2170 Canal Street in Stuart to assess the environmental effect of water being released from Lake Okeechobee, according to the governor's office.
The tour will start at 2:15 p.m.
The governor also will discuss his concerns with the Army Corps of Engineers' maintenance of the Okeechobee Lake Dike System, as well as possible solutions to mitigating future impact of the release.
