STUART – Officials released the name of the 60-year-old man who went missing from a boat near the Roosevelt Bridge on Saturday as they continued to search for him on Monday.
Ronald Jett of Jensen Beach fell off a boat near the Sunset Bay Marina before emergency crews were dispatched at 4:41 p.m. Saturday, according to a Martin County sheriff's report.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Martin County Sheriff's Office plan to look for the man, who hasn't been identified yet, all day until they find him, as long as weather conditions allow, said commission spokeswoman Carli Segelson.
They have been using a helicopter and sonar equipment on boats since the search began. They suspended the search at 8 p.m. that night because visibility was reduced and currents were strong, but they resumed it Sunday morning.
