STUART, Fla. - A multi-agency effort targeting what officers called "street level drug dealers" resulted in 47 arrests in Stuart Wednesday night with more arrests expected Thursday.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office worked in conjunction with the DEA and the Stuart Police Department in a drug sweep focusing on drug activity in Stuart.
The Stuart sweep was part of a larger operation that focused on Indiantown, Golden Gate, East Stuart, Palm City, Hobe Sound, Salerno and Jensen Beach.
Martin County Sheriff’s Narcotics Detectives, COP Deputies, CID Detectives, the Aviation Unit, Warrants Division, and Jail Deputies worked the targeted areas through the night.
While the operation was ongoing throughout Thursday, over 100-drug related charges have already been filed in Martin County as part of the sweep.
The arrests were focused on dealers throughout Martin County who are suspected of selling oxycodone, heroin, methamphetamine, crack cocaine and other opiates.
Deputies advise more arrests are expected throughout the day.
