A Gold Star family from Stuart received the keys to their new home Sunday.
Karen and Bill Vaughn lost their son, Aaron, who served overseas in 2011.
In addition to losing their son, the family also lost their home and business. Volunteers worked quickly to renovate, landscape, paint and furnish the home.
On Sunday, the neighborhood accompanied the family as they walked into their new residence.
"It was very gratifying because these families are the ones who suffer the most and bear the hard shift long after the history passes and the memory doesn't fade. The loss of her son is the hardest thing a family has to with Stan or any child it was a community effort and that's what really counts," said volunteer Kenneth Bergquist.
The house was affectionately named "The House That Love Built."
