Congressman Patrick Murphy wants everyone to continue to fight for preservation of waterways

STUART, Fla. - Florida Congressman Patrick Murphy stopped by the Rivers Coalition meeting today to encourage everyone to continue fighting for the preservation of our waterways.

He commended the hard work of everyone involved in the coalition and explained exactly how their hard work translated into two big wins in Washington, D.C. for the St. Lucie River Estuary and the Indian River Lagoon.

"Number one, passed the water bill that included almost $1 billion of new projects to clean the water and send it south and number two, we got the President to include 100% of what army corp requested for a project called C44," said Murphy.

Murphy says the next step is to meet with Congress on April 22 to make sure local waterways see the new funds that have been promised.
