State prosecutors formally charged Austin Harrouff with two counts of second-degree murder.
Harrouff will remain in jail until his case goes before a jury.
The 19-year-old Florida State University student is accused of killing John and Michelle Stevens of Martin County.
If convicted, Harrouff faces life in prison.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 22.
