A Port St. Lucie man was killed in an early morning crash in Palm City Friday.
The accident happened at 7:20 a.m. at Southwest Martin Downs Boulevard and Southwest Martin Highway.
Officials say 62-year-old Douglas Byron crashed his Lexus RX300 SUV into a traffic light pole.
Byron was traveling east on County Road 714 approaching Martin Downs Boulevard when he suffered a medical condition. Byron turned sharply to the right and traveled across the eastbound lanes of County Road 714, striking a traffic light pole.
The SUV tipped over onto the driver's side and landed on the sidewalk, according to a news release.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation,
