A lawsuit has been filed against Terminix and Sunland Pest Control after a Palm City boy became very sick.
The lawsuit blames the companies for what lawyers call Peyton McCaughey's "sustained catastrophic brain injury.”
The lawsuit says the contractor and Terminix used a different chemical than what the family was told would be used.
Based on our research the chemical appears to be similar but using another name brand.
The lawsuit says Terminix did not properly supervise the local contractor and that nine-year-old Peyton was poisoned and gassed because the Zyphor chemical was left inside the home after the fumigation.
According to the lawsuit, the contractor put too much of the chemical in the home and failed to ventilate the house before the family was told they could return.
The lawsuit does not specify how much money the family is asking for.
Peyton remains in a Broward County hospital undergoing intense therapy to try and overcome serious brain damage.
