PALM CITY, Fla. - State investigators are still trying to pinpoint what sparked last week's wildfire in Palm City that came very close to homes.
A burned RV suffered the worst damage.
7 acres burned between Citrus Boulevard and Markel Street.
No homes were damaged although the fire did burn several fence lines.
One horse owner said it was the scariest thing she had ever seen when she walked outside and saw flames devouring 50-foot tall trees.
"That's when I ran to get the horses out of the barn and capture the dog and cat and my cell phone and headed to the other side of the street and called 9-1-1,” said Jeannie Gonzalez whose home was spared.
Tuesday some homeowners were clearing out excess vegetation from near their properties.
The Office of Agriculture Law Enforcement is investigating the Palm City fire as well as a 100-acre fire that sparked up Monday on ranch-land in Western Martin County.
