Bunnies, chicks not a good Easter gift, advises Humane Society of the Treasure Coast

PALM CITY, Fla. - If you're thinking of buying your child a bunny for Easter this weekend, you may want to reconsider.

In fact, many pet store owners are refusing to sell bunnies as Easter presents because many end up homeless after the holiday.

The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast says about two months after Easter they get an influx of unwanted bunnies.

They say owners don't realize the expense and work that goes into caring for a bunny and the excitement wears off.
