3 suspected pillowcase burglars arrested in Palm City

PALM CITY — Martin County Sheriff's Office officials have arrested three Fort Lauderdale men in connection with an attempted pillowcase robbery this afternoon in Palm City.

Officials charged Tory Jermaine Grissett, 26, Henry Marcus Harp III, 22, and Joseph Brown III, 32, with burglary. Harp and Brown also were charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement.

According to officials, a teenager inside the home, in the 1100 of Southwest Keats Avenue in the Canoe Creek development of Palm City, called 911 when he saw the three suspects at his front door.

The suspects smashed in a window, according to officials.

"All three are in custody," said Christine Christofek, Martin County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Martin County sheriff's deputy Carlo Scandria arrested Grissett after stopping the vehicle in which he attempted to escape.

According to officials, Harp and Brown fled north on foot, then tried to elude deputies by stealing a boat to cross a canal from Canoe Creek to Crane Creek.

Deputies from the Uniform Road Patrol Division, TAC Team, K-9 Unit, Ranch and Grove, Air Units and Criminal Investigations Division cornered and arrested Harp and Brown in a wooded area.

According to officials, the three men were driving a late model white rental car with dark tinted windows. Officials said they recovered jewelry, electronics and other property.
