STUART, Fla. - Some Treasure Coast parents won't be seeing As on their child's report cards anymore.
Starting in September, Indian River and Martin County elementary schools are changing the grading system for students in grades three to five.
Instead, the school system will issue an “M” for meeting expectations, a “P” for progressing and an “N” for not meeting expectations.
School officials said this will allow students to be graded on specific areas of the Common Core curriculum.
The Martin County School Board will hear a presentation on the new grading system at a Tuesday workshop.
