JENSEN BEACH, Fla. - A man who jumped and shouted ran afoul of the law after deputies say he bared his buttocks and had pot in his pockets, according to recently released records.
The case of the derriere displaying dude with spliff in his pants went down about 10:45 p.m. Nov. 28 -- Thanksgiving day -- in Jensen Beach.
A Martin County Sheriff's deputy went to an address on Northeast 22 nd Avenue after a reckless vehicle complaint. The driver was reported to be drunk and the vehicle not registered.
The deputy found the vehicle at a home that appeared vacant. Neighbors said the driver had been causing a ruckus for hours.
At a nearby intersection, a deputy spied a man "jumping up and down." That man, 25-year-old Crue Finley, said the vehicle belonged to him, though said he wasn't driving. Finley did say he'd been drinking, and the deputy told him to go home.
Finley started walking away, but stopped. He put his hands in the air and started jumping and shouting loud enough to be heard by deputies about two blocks away.
That, records state, is when he dropped his pants and exposed his buttocks.
In most cases, it is unwise to display your buttocks to law enforcement officers.
It wasn't immediately clear whether Finley was jumping for joy, doing jumping jacks or merely hopping.
Deputies secured Finley, finding a couple of bags of marijuana in his pockets.
Finley, of the 8000 block of South Indian River Drive in Fort Pierce, was arrested on charges including disorderly intoxication and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis.
