HOBE SOUND, Fla-- Martin County Sheriff's Deputies continue to search for missing Hobe Sound mother Tricia Todd.

They were back out Thursday rechecking areas they've already searched. They were going back along US 1 near the area near where Tricia Todd was last seen and heard from when she left the Airbnb her ex-husband was renting early Wednesday morning.

The Sheriff said there's not much to go off. No physical evidence of crime scene.

It’s a case that could point to an abduction, but there still no signs of a struggle or other things involved in an abduction.

After 8 days of exhausting every resource and tip, It leaves even these hard working deputies with a feeling of frustration.

“When there’s just nothing that’s left its very difficult and stressful,” said Deputy Matthew Fritchie. “We get cases we investigate, we solve and we’ll at least have some type of closure. These open ones that just have no direction is very difficult to deal with," Tricia's friend Elizabeth Vale said.

On the volunteer side, they're spending hours working for free tirelessly searching for Todd.

Todd was reported missing April 27th after she never picked up her daughter. Investigators found her car near her home with the keys and her purse inside.

Now, more than a week after her disappearance, deputies and volunteers continue to search and research the area.

Meanwhile, the thought of a Mother's Day without Todd is slowly becoming a harsh reality.

“I just cannot imagine, her being away form her daughter, her daughter being away from her. As a mom, when I think about being separated from my kids, I think about Tricia’s mom and being separated from her daughter. On Mother’s Day and Tricia being separated from her daughter. It’s just heart-wrenching."

The Sheriff’s Office has scaled back its efforts some. It has removed its mobile command unit from the area.
