MARTIN COUNTY — Four people suffered minor injuries in what officials called a “horrific crash” on Wednesday morning that caused minor delays briefly.
Witnesses told officials a maroon Dodge truck was driving recklessly at Lillian Court and Southeast Federal Highway about 10:15 a.m. when it somehow crashed into another vehicle stopped at the intersection, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Christine Christofek.
The other vehicle was catapulted more than 700 feet while the driver of the truck lost control and hit a tree, according to Christofek. Firefighters had to extricate one person. All four people involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital.
The crash remained under investigation on Wednesday.
