Hillary Clinton is sending a representative to the Treasure Coast Monday for a first-hand look at the algae crisis.

Former EPA administrator Carol Browner will visit Stuart on behalf of the Clinton campaign.

Browner is expected to meet with frustrated business owners, residents and elected officials.

This comes after Martin County commissioners voted to send a letter to both Clinton and Trump asking them to come to the treasure coast and witness the problems with algae.

Trump's campaign hasn't responded yet.

Commissioners say the invitation is still open to the Republican nominee.

At this point 420 million gallons of water from Lake Okeechobee is still being pumped into the St. Lucie Estuary daily.
