Border Patrol searching for clues

JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. - Border Patrol agents are questioning two Haitian women, who came ashore early Saturday morning on Jupiter Island.

Several law enforcement agencies searched for several hours by land, sea and air for nearly a dozen refugees.

The two women were first spotted by a resident who called police. One of the women is pregnant. The two were taken into custody. Investigators are asking them about their trip from Haiti, and the others involved. Police say at least 6 to 8 others were picked up by someone from the mainland at Coral Cove Park. Those who helped the refugees get away face charges of human smuggling if caught.
