INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Vero Beach man has been charged with trafficking, conspiracy to traffic cocaine and resisting arrest without violence, according to an Indian River County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit.
Tony Daniel Bristol, 34, of the 4000 block of 41st Street, was released from the Indian River County Jail on Monday on $49,500 bond, records show.
A deputy spotted Bristol driving without a seat belt on 43rd Street on Sunday evening and tried to pull him over, according to the arrest affidavit. Bristol sped away and led the deputy to the 4300 block of 28th Court in Vero Beach, the affidavit states.
Bristol got out of his car, pulled what appeared to be a plastic bag from his pocket and ran until he fell, it states.
Bristol then got up and clenched his fists as if to fight. The deputy fired his Taser three times — missing once — before he could arrest Bristol, the affidavit states.
The deputy found two bags containing a total of 30 grams of cocaine lying atop foliage in an area Bristol had passed during the run, the affidavit states. He had $3,894 on him, it states.
