VERO BEACH -- Police apprehended a bank robbery suspect within minutes of the crime Friday morning, spokesman Officer John Morrison said.
The suspect walked into the PNC Bank in the 500 block of Beachland Boulevard about 10 a.m. and passed a note to the teller and demanded cash. When he fled with the money, a customer followed him and provided police with vehicle information, Morrison said.
Officers stopped the suspect in a red Dodge pickup on Gardenia Lane, a few blocks from the bank.
Police say the suspect is being treated for a minor injury at Indian River Medical Center.
Investigators have not yet released the suspect's name.
