Missing Vero teen with Asperger Syndrome found safe

UPDATE: The 13-year-old was found safe.

McCourt spent the night with a friend and did not tell his mother his location.

EARLIER: The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a missing 13-year-old boy with Asperger Syndrome.

Johnathan McCourt was last seen on October 21, 2016 near his home on the 1500 block of 15th Circle SW, Vero Beach.

McCourt was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and attends Wabasso School.

He was last seen wearing a neon yellow shirt, dark shorts and black or blue Nike shoes.

He is described as 5’6” tall, 190 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.

"Please take a good look at this photo and help us locate Johnathan McCourt. Somebody has seen him in the past couple hours or knows where he is right now. We are concerned for his safety and want to return him to his family as soon as possible," said Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar.

Earlier in the evening, McCourt was fishing at the Oslo Preserve.
