David Rodriguez: Seminole County Sheriff's Office deputy arrested on solicitation charges

VERO BEACH, Fla. - Seminole County Sheriff's Office deputy David Rodriguez ,28, has been arrested by the Indian River County Sheriff's Office on charges of lewd computer solicitation of a child, the sheriff's office says.

The sheriff's office says that a father of a teen found that she had used his computer to access her Facebook account.

The Facebook account was left open and the father said he read private messages that were sexual in nature from Rodriguez to his daughter suggesting that the two meet to have sex.

Rodriguez asked the victim to send photos but not until she turned 18, according to an arrest warrant.

Deputies say that Rodriguez was a martial arts instructor as well as a deputy.

Investigators from the Indian River County Sheriff's Office say that a search of Rodriguez's Facebook account found multiple occasions where he attempted to meet the victim for sex.

Rodriguez told deputies that he has known the victim for a long time through karate tournaments but nothing had happened between them.
