SEBASTIAN — At least one person was injured after an accident Tuesday morning in Sebastian.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer was eastbound on County Road 512 when it struck a Jeep driven by a Sebastian River High School student about 7:45 a.m.
The driver was exiting a gas station at C.R. 512 and 90th Avenue. The Jeep's driver was flown by helicopter to Holmes Regional Medical Center.
After hitting the Jeep, the tractor-trailer then struck a concrete power pole, causing emergency personnel to request that the power be cut in the area for a couple of hours.
Eastbound traffic on C.R. 512 and northbound traffic on 90th Avenue is being diverted through the shopping center on the southeast corner of the intersection as the cleanup continues.
Emergency crews are expected to be in the area for a couple of hours, according to the FHP.
