INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An intoxicated man who said he woke up Thursday unexpectedly in a neighbor's living room woke up Friday at the Indian River County Jail, according to his arrest affidavit.
A Countryside Mobile Home Park resident told the Indian River County Sheriff's Office she found Ronald Christopher Reich, 67, who also lives in the community, sitting in her recliner about 4:30 p.m. The woman, who lives in the 8700 block of South Sandpiper Drive, said she woke up from a nap when she discovered Reich, who took off his shirt and said he had been waiting for her, according to the affidavit.
A deputy arrived and said Reich had urinated and defecated on himself. Reich said he had a couple of drinks but had no explanation for why he was in the woman's home, the Sheriff's Office said. There was no indication Reich knew the woman, the Sheriff's Office said.
Reich lives in the 8700 block of Skylark Drive, though he repeatedly gave a New York address when asked by the deputy, the affidavit states.
Reich was charged with trespassing of an occupied dwelling and disorderly intoxication. He remained at the jail Friday in lieu of $1,000 bail.
