INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. - The Indian River County sheriff is confident of making arrests in three separate shootings over the Easter weekend.
Sheriff Deryl Loar made the comment during a Monday morning news conference.
He also asked any witnesses to come forward with information.
Friday night, one man was shot to death after he and his step-brother were involved in a fight with someone in the county.
Saturday night, 1 person was injured during a drive-by shooting in front of a popular dance night club near 45th street.
And Sunday night, five people, including an infant, were injured when shots rang out by Smith Grocery Store, also on 45th street.
Deputies say a huge crowd, nearly a hundred people, were gathered outside of the store when a fight broke out.
The sheriff says the violence needs to stop but he needs the community's help.
"We have hard evidence on all of these cases and there will be arrests coming. Our plea today is for our victims and our witnesses is to cooperate with law enforcement. That's how we're going to make this community to be a success, but we've got to have witnesses step forward and talk about what's going on in the community," Sheriff Loar said.
The sheriff said two of the shootings may be related.
Five of the people injured in the weekend shootings have since been treated and released. One man still remains at St. Mary's Medical Center with severe injuries.
