Indian River County Sheriff's Office releases surveillance of suspect who robbed Subway at gunpoint

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. - The Indian River County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who robbed a Subway at gunpoint on Wednesday, June 26th at 9:00 p.m.

The suspect entered the store in 600 block of US 1 as an employee was preparing to close, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives say the man was armed with a handgun and demanded cash from the employee.

The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, according to authorities. He was believed to have traveled north on 6th Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his early 30s, medium build, with a dark complexion. He was wearing a stocking over his head,  a black jacket, black pants, and a camouflage hat.

Detectives said he pulled a white bandanna from around his neck and covered his nose and mouth before leaving the store.

Indian River County Sheriff's Office K-9 units tracked the suspect to the north of the Subway but the scent was lost about 100 yards from the restaurant, according to authorities.

Detectives believe he may entered a car parked in a nearby parking lot.
