Humane Society of Vero Beach works to improve shelter dogs' behavior

Volunteers sought for new program

The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County is looking for a few good volunteers for its new "Train to Adopt" program.

The program teaches shelter dogs skills to improve their behavior and increase their chance for adoption.

If you'd like to give it a try, there will be an introductory training session on Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at The Humane Society's Adoption and Education Center in Vero Beach.

For more information or to reserve a place, you're urged to call the shelter's volunteer department at (772) 388-3331 ext. 12.
