A dolphin is swimming free with her calf after she was caught in fishing gear Monday in the Indian River Lagoon near Vero Beach.
The dolphin had been entangled in a line for more than a week.
A mammal rescue team scrambled to the scene and caught both mother and offspring. According to the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, biologists needed to catch the pair so they didn't become separated during the rescue.
The gear was tangled around the mother's body and flipper.
Biologists then checked her and her calf before releasing them.
