SEBASTIAN -- One person was killed and five others traveling in the same vehicle were injured after it rolled over outside the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in northern Indian River County Thursday morning, Indian River Fire Rescue said.
The single-car accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. at mile marker 158, north of the Sebastian/Fellsmere exit.
All northbound lanes were closed for a few hours during the investigation.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, Jamila Mandisa Myrtis Stewart of Lauderhill lost control of her Isuzu Ascender and one of the passengers was ejected and later died at Sebastian Medical Center.
The victim was identified by FHP as 13-year-old Dylan Joseph of Lauderhill.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
