Alavah Moore: Indian River County woman charged with trying to blow up IRMC emergency room

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 25-year-old woman was jailed for allegedly threatening to blow up oxygen bottles at the Indian River Medical Center over her treatment at the emergency room, sheriff’s reports show.

A deputy quoted Alavah Moore, 25, as saying she was bleeding and was tired of waiting to be treated.

Moore, of the 400 block of 43rd Avenue, was arrested at 7:28 p.m. Monday and is being held in the Indian River County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bail. She was charged with threatening to throw destructive devices and criminal mischief.

She allegedly turned on four highly flammable oxygen bottles attached to wheelchairs. An emergency room worker turned them off as she left, but employees found some burned paper at the exit where she had allegedly stood.

A deputy detained her as she was getting in a car and after questioning, she was arrested. A hospital employee quoted her as saying she wanted to blow up the facility, according to reports.
