Zedric Joseph: Former Palm Beach Central High School football player faces homicide charges in court

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A former Palm Beach Central High School player was denied bond in court Thursday morning on homicide charges for a double stabbing incident in March that left one man dead.

Zedric Joseph had been held in Richmond County, Georgia since March but was extradited to Palm Beach County this week.

He is accused of stabbing his child's mother, 23-year-old Vashti Laurore and killing 23-year-old Ricardy Chery at a home in the 1600 block of Quail Lake Drive in West Palm Beach on March 7th.

He was arrested one week later in Georgia.

Joseph set a variety of football records at Palm Beach Central High School where he graduated in 2009. He went on to play for the University of Maine.

Upon learning of the March stabbing incident, The University of Maine football coach released a statement saying: "This is very hard to comprehend. We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims and their families and friends connected to this tragedy."

In court Thursday, Joseph was ordered to have no contact with the surviving victim. He is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail.
