WEST PALM BEACH, Fla, - It should be a bite quieter in the north end of West Palm Beach. City officials say that Architectural Testing, a company that uses an airplane engine for wind testing, has installed a 40 foot wall to reduce noise levels.
West Palm Beach and Architectural Testing had previously discussed noise levels at the facility.
The company uses a large plane prop engine to propel water at high speeds to test various construction materials.
West Palm Beach says the company is also looking at other methods to reduce noise levels including putting a NASCAR-style muffler on the engine.
City code enforcement officials says noise levels have dropped since the wall was built.
