WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach is hiring 40 new clinicians to help with PTSD treatment.
Doctors say the hospital is seeing a trend among people suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder. They say too much time is passing between determining a person has PTSD, and getting it treated.
The hospital treats patients from all over the state, from as far south as Broward County and as far north as Brevard County. Officials say patients even come to the West Palm Beach hospital from the west coast of Florida.
The first group of clinicians should be working by August 1.
