Two people cut from wreckage of multiple-vehicle crash on Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach

Lanes have since reopened

— Police have opened all westbound and eastbound lanes of Okeechobee Boulevard following a three-vehicle wreck this morning.

West Palm Beach fire-rescue and police were dispatched around 7:30 a.m. to the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and Spencer Drive.

Involved in the crash were a white four-door BMW, a blue F-350 pick-up truck and a tan four-door Ford Focus.

Two people were taken to Columbia Hospital in West Palm Beach after they had to be extricated from their vehicles.

West Palm Beach Police spokesman Allan Ortman said the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

Police said the Ford Focus and the pick-up truck smashed into a concrete pole. The BMW, which was most severely damaged with its entire front torn off, came to rest in the eastbound lanes.

The crash caused more than a dozen units to be initially called to the scene.
