Three hospitalized after early morning Pahokee house fire

PAHOKEE, Fla. -- An early morning fire ravaged a Pahokee home and sent three people to the hospital Monday.

The fire broke out in a bottom-floor unit of a quadriplex at 8753 Doveland Drive.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews say the three people, a woman and two teenagers, were sent to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries and possible smoke inhalation.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies say, when they arrived around 2:30 a.m., the three people were outside the unit. Fire crews soon arrived to help deputies evacuate all neighbors from the building.
Heavy smoke and fire was coming from the building and crews worked to fully extinguish the blaze before families were allowed back into the building.
Florida Power & Light crews restored power to the three neighboring units and the three families were allowed to return to their homes.
The Red Cross has offered assistance to the family where the fire was located.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews say a unit next door caught fire a year ago.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.
