Three accidents on the Florida Turnpike send 3 people to hospital, caused heavy delays

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Three separate vehicle accidents happened in the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike, just north of Okeechobee Boulevard sending three patients to the hospital. The accidents also caused heavy traffic delays, said Captain Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

Two patients were taken to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, and the other patient was taken to Wellington Regional Medical Center.

When Rescue crews responded to the first accident around 9:30 p.m., they found a two-vehicle accident. One of the vehicles crashed into the highway divider wall, Borroto said.

Soon after the first vehicle accident, two other vehicle accidents were reported in the same area, Borroto said.

Mile Marker 99-Mile Marker 102 were blocked off on Florida Turnpike, but are now reopened, says a Florida Highway Patrol duty officer.
