State Attorney Dave Aronberg works Christmas to show appreciation for his prosecutors

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - While most enjoyed Christmas at home opening gifts, there is no day off for justice.

A judge, Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies, and even Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg did not take Christmas off.

They were working first appearance court Christmas morning.

"It is the least I can do for the people who work hard in the office everyday at lower pay than they would get in the private sector. They do it because they have a passion for justice," Aronberg said.

There was a full docket Monday morning -- suspects with charges ranging from domestic violence to aggravated assault.

And after a busy morning, Aronberg says he will enjoy the rest of the holiday.

"I'm going to remove the Christmas tie my Mom got me and be casual and hang out with the family and my beloved basset hound," Aronberg said.

First appearance court is in session 365 days a year in Palm Beach County.
