Sgt. David Palma: Deployed soldier reunites with family at Palm Beach International Airport

Army mother Cecilia Gil has been waiting for her son to come home.

"It's his first deployment," said Gil. "He's been in Afghanistan. He misses his girls very much."

Her three granddaughters have missed their father, Sgt. David Palma, just as much. He's been gone for almost eight months.

"We've been keeping them busy, took them to Disney, enjoyed some family time," said Gil. "The girls have no clue their dad is coming home."

Five-year-old Leilani was full of energy, bouncing around the Palm Beach International Airport waiting area. Her two younger sisters, two-year-old Jade and one-year-old Maliyah, may not be old enough to comprehend yet, but when "daddy" comes home… there are no words, but plenty of hugs and tears.

"It feels amazing, feels really good," Sgt. Palma said.

Sgt. Palma said despite nightly internet chats with his wife Ashley-- there's still no place like home.
