60 auto burglaries were reported in West Palm Beach Thursday, according to city police.

The break-ins happened along Congress Avenue between Executive Center Drive and the Riviera Beach line.

At least 25 happened at the Presidential Golfview condominiums on North Congress Avenue.

Police say the thief or thieves forcibly entered the vehicles by smashing windows and were likely looking for money, electronics and firearms.

“It's very frustrating to have to spend money before you even start your day,” said Jonathan Patterson, one of the residents who had his car broken into. "I’m missing a day of work to deal with this, so that's very frustrating.”

The break-ins happened sometime between 3 and 5:30 a.m.

Desmond McKay says this is the second time in recent months he's had this happen. “I am tired of it. For me, it doesn’t make sense for me to lock up this car any more,” said McKay.

Two silver Dodge Ram 1500s were also stolen during the crime spree. One was later recovered in a ditch with extensive damage.

Police are still trying to locate a 2005 silver Dodge Ram 1500 with Florida tag 939VA.
