WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-- Richard Thomas went before a judge Wednesday morning for his first appearance.
U.S. Marshals and detectives with the Riviera Beach Police Department had been searching for Thomas for nearly a week, after he was linked to a shooting that critically injured a two-year-old girl. They arrested him Tuesday.
Thomas faces several charges including carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, felon in possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm in public. A judge set bond at $310,000. The judge says more charges could be forthcoming.
The two-year-old, Keyniah Lowe, remained in critical condition Wednesday morning. According to the arrest report, Lowe had a bullet go through her arm and into her chest. The toddler had to undergo emergency surgery to remove the bullet.
Meanwhile, the other man linked to the shooting, Warren Dye, remains on the run. Dye is from Riviera Beach. Authorities raided his home Tuesday and found guns and cash.
