Postal Service protest to take place at West Palm Beach post office

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A nationwide push is planned Sunday at post offices across the country rallying against the postal service's decision to end Saturday mail delivery service.

Dozens are expected to rally outside of the Summit Boulevard Post Office at 1 p.m.

The financially strapped postal agency announced they would cut Saturday service for first class mail last month.

Sunday protesters will speak out against the plan hoping to get lawmakers to push for change.

The nationwide effort is called USA for Six Day.

The letter carriers union is helping lead the effort saying this cut would hurt the postal service's bottom line and cut jobs.

Some lawmakers believe postal agency needs to make cutbacks and reorganize their operations.

Currently they're losing $25 million per day and cutting Saturday service would save $2 billion each year.
