Possible shoe-bomb threat has airlines on alert

In light of new information that terrorists are possibly working on a design to hide explosives in shoes, Homeland Security will be paying extra attention to passengers flying into the United States.

Shoes that are worn and in carry on luggage will be X-rayed.
Airport security will use swabs that check for traces of explosives on passengers shoes.
Authorities said the threat information is not particular to any airline, country of origin or time frame, and there's also no indication of any specific plot.
