5 people shot, 1 dead in Riviera Beach, treated at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach

Rivera Beach Police are investigating three separate shooting incidents that occurred Saturday.

According to Riviera Beach Police Public Information Officer Rose Anne Brown, one male was shot after the occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire at Congress Avenue and MLK Boulevard.  He later died as a result of his injuries at St. Mary's Medical Center.

One male and one female were shot by a male suspect who approached the pair on foot and shot them in front of a house on the 900 block of West 5th Street.  The female was seriously injured and the male appears to have minor injuries.

On the 1200 block of Avenue R, two males were shot outside after a male suspect approached on foot.  Both victims appear to have minor injuries.

Police say the three shootings are related. They say the second and third shootings are retaliatory in nature.

Suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

All five shooting victims were being treated at St. Mary's Medical Center Saturday following the shootings.
