A pedestrian was hit and killed Sunday night near St. Mary's Medical Center.
The wreck occurred shortly after 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of 45th Street and Windsor Avenue.
Officers began CPR on the pedestrian, identified as 47-year-old Tasha Smith, until medics arrived and continued CPR efforts. Medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Police said the investigation revealed the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and crossed the street in the middle of road.
The driver of the car, who was not cited, said they did not see the pedestrian.
Officers said Smith was at fault.
